In the heart of Fazilka, Punjab, where the borders meet, a remarkable journey began – the journey of Mr. Nitish Dhawan, a trailblazer in the field of space exploration. Hailing from this border district, Mr. Nitish Dhawan has etched his name in history as the first person from Fazilka to join the prestigious Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
The roots of his scientific odyssey trace back to an ICSE school in Fazilka, where young Nitish's curiosity was nurtured and sparked a passion for the cosmos. His pursuit of knowledge led him to the corridors of IIT Roorkee, where he delved into the realms of higher education, laying the foundation for his future contributions to space exploration.
Currently positioned as a senior scientist at ISRO's design & development department in Trivandrum, Mr. Nitish Dhawan has been a pivotal force behind some of ISRO's most recent and groundbreaking missions. Notably, he played an integral role in the Chandrayaan 3 mission, which aimed to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe lunar landing and roving.
